Pastoral Care
"By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another" - John 3v35
Our pastoral care is rooted in and shaped by the love God shows us in Jesus who calls us to love one another as we follow him.
Sharing the message of God's love in word and deed is therefore at the core of all our pastoral care.
We encourage the whole church community to play their part in pastoral care for one another and more widely as we seek to love our community as God loves us.
To help us we have Pastoral Care Co-ordinators, members of our church family who have particular gifts, training and experience in this ministry.

Prayer
Praying in Small Groups
Many of our church community meet regularly in 2s and 3s to pray for each other. Meeting in smaller groups like this enables a greater depth of sharing and support for one another.
Midday Prayer & Morning Prayer
Midday Prayer takes place every Wednesday during term-time there is a prayer meeting from 12-12.30 in one of our churches. Morning Prayer usually takes place on the 1st Saturday of the month in the Parish Room. As well as praying for our church, community and wider world there is opportunity to share prayer requests and be prayed for. See the calendar for details.
Termly Prayer Gatherings
We aim to gather as a whole church community once per term to share encouragements and requests, pray and sing praise to God together. Details will be shared here once confirmed.

Many of our church community meet fortnightly in different homes across the parish to encourage one another, study the Bible, pray and share life together.

As a community of people committed to loving one another there is all kinds of pastoral care going on all the time that doesn't need any particular organising.
We recognise that there are some who need a bit of extra support and help - perhaps because of illness, loneliness or being house-bound. In these circumstances our Pastoral Care Co-ordinators organise teams to offer visits and other support such as lifts or help with shopping.

We recognise that there are some who need a bit of extra support and help - perhaps because of illness, loneliness or being house-bound. In these circumstances our Pastoral Care Co-ordinators organise teams to offer visits and other support such as lifts or help with shopping.

Sharing a cup of coffee or some food together is a really important part of our pastoral care for one another and takes place in a range of ways across our church family, including occasional church and community lunches.
There are also times in life and situations that arise that make preparing food at home challenging. To help with this our Catering Team can organise a week or so of meals to be delivered to households as a gesture of love and support.

Bereavement Care
We understand that losing a loved one is a very difficult time and are here to support you in whatever way we can.
As well as providing help and support at the time of death, and particularly around planning and holding a funeral service, we also offer ongoing pastoral care to those who are grieving, recognising that grief doesn’t end once the funeral is over.
As part of this we run a Bereavement Café twice each year. This is a relaxed and supportive space to meet with others who are living with loss, whether recent or a long time ago.
The date for the next one is yet to be confirmed.
